A few weeks ago, the topic of marriage within BDSM came up at the end of a discussion that was on another theme. This subject of conjugality and being in a BDSM relationship was only briefly touched upon and i felt it deserved more attention.
Connubiality and the BDSM lifestyle both have some of the same tenants.
They both require honor for at least one or more of the partners in the
relationship and their must be dedication to the partnership itself. The
primary difference in these two relations, is the ownership of another
person, even if it's temporary, which is what BDSM is about.
If we look in the past, we will notice that couples who got married, often created patriarchal households. I believe these unions, whether they were consented to or not, paved the way for what the BDSM habit is today.
Due to times that have changed, roles in not only personal affairs, but business ones as well, have also have been transformed.
Although many people still observe the traditions of their culture, i believe that more and more humans are adopting the lifestyle of the twenty-first century.
Could matrimony and BDSM coexist? The only limitations in life are those that individuals place upon themselves.
